John Anderson could kick both of their asses at the same time. :D
This is not the year to think about what we don’t have.
It is the year we should be grateful for what we do have.

Indeed.
Which raises the question, why do British people drop the "h" from John?

maybe. he's got that gnarly look about him.

i'm not sure we should really count out ian anderson. i saw him at a tull show right after he had cracked his leg bad in rio. in new orleans, he was spinnin around the stage, operating a wheelchair with one hand (the other was fluting) and he was flyin around like a nut at breakneck speed with the energy i had when i was five.

however, i hold to my earlier assertion that bill bruford could take em all.

As both seem to be able to reach quite high notes, I wonder if they might both be keen to be up with the whales? It was the 50th anniversary of the "Songs Of The Humpback Whale" LP recently - perhaps they've both been trying to sing back to them all these years?

Presumably because it is the shortened form of Jonathan :?

Kind of like Matt has a superfluous t because it is the shortened form of Matthew, but in reverse.

That makes sense. It never occurred to me, as I’ve known about two Jonathans in my life and dozens and dozens of Johns. And the Jonathans always went by Jonathan.

I have a brother Jonathan, who goes by Jon.

One might as reasonably ask why John still has an H!

Jon Anderson used to be a milkman
He'd bottle the beardy cunt with a pint of goldtop soon as look at him.

Exactly. You've got to be rock hard to drive a milk float around Accrington.

He was christened John, by the way, but changed his name to annoy Texans.

Nash has the reach, and wiry, bony stamina. He'd have the aggression which Anderson wouldn't be able to match.

But Anderson would be able to place himself in a zen-like trance where he wouldn't even feel the pain from his bruised and bleeding face. H'ed just send his thoughts off thinking about whales or khatrus or something.

And then all Anderson has to do is say "Oi Graham, Stills says that Our House is shit", and Nash would go off on one, and wouldn't even notice the heavy afghan rug about to smack him in the face.

Anderson, by a knockout

Well, Graham Nash has been on the Danny Baker show, so, by following some very dubious and tortuous logic, Nash could probably take out the warbling wanker with the concrete hardened crust of a stale pork pie.
Bugger off.
