Very sad. I became obsessed with Then Play On back in the day and have never fallen out of love with it. A singular talent.

RIP Peter.

Definitely - very, very sad.

Saw Fleetwood Mac on their very first tour, first gig I ever went to - unforgettable. Superb guitarist with an amazingly soulful voice.

R.I.P. Peter Green

A giant. Wish he'd had a less-messed-up life.

One of the greats who did well to get his train back on the line. Can now rest in peace.

Syd Barrett and Peter Green, were always the two names that came immediately to mind when you thought of musicians whose minds were destroyed by recreational drugs 50 years ago. A sad waste.

Didn't we discuss Peter Green last time I was in LA. I recall putting him forward as being top of the pile. Seem to remember you needed convincing and only Tom was backing me up 100%.

ANyway this one's come out of the blue as a real shock, and I can only add my name to the list of Then Play On fans.

I remember. I like Green, but I don't rate him above Clapton. An unpopular opinion around here, I know...
I recall Tom getting irate when I told him I like Duane Allman better too.

A giant, a real guitar hero. Albatross, Green Manalishi, Black Magic Woman - Arguably the Mac's best work. Glad he came back to us and on the road again. RIP Peter Green

Sad to wake up to this news. One of the greats. Not only a superb guitarist but a fine songwriter as well. R.I.P.

I would agree with all that - but whether he was the best or better/worse than somebody else, he was a great talent sadly wasted

Very sad
