I didn't realise that Larry Taylor was no longer with us (2019) - we missed that

I think that of the musicians on this album, only John Mayall is still alive.

I was in a day-after-the-jolly-up lunchtime drink with Andy Griff and Johnny Slider and a few others many years back. I was sure I spotted John Mayall drinking with a friend across the pub - eventually, I went over and asked if it was he.

It wasn't.

Anyway, it got me thinking that the real John Mayall would need to be careful chatting in a pub:

'What do you do, mate?'
'I play music. In bands'
'Oh really - any I'd of heard of?'
'Probably not. But the guys I get to play in my band usually go on to really great bands - well known and all'.
'Like who?'
'Oh...Fleetwood Mac, Cream, the Rolling Stones - one guy left me to lead the band for Ray Charles...'
'Sorry mate, are you taking the piss? Do you think I'm thick or something?'

Andy Griff nearly got into a fight in the post-jolly pub, by the way.
It was a Wetherspooons, in Chalk Farm. I won't say 'now shut', coz they ALL are, but this one especially...

:D Nice post.

perhaps Chris, after mentioning Griff's near pugilistic skills, you may want to tell newcomers why you are called 'Gentleman Thug'...?

[I was there!]

This such a relaxed album - Mayall got 'this sound' just right

Laurel Canyon, Empty Rooms, USA Union, Turning Point.

Pure skill
