Rank GG worst to best....

Postby C » 29 May 2020, 15:45

I agree with the lad's bottom four and most of the others (except number 1 - 'the 'best')

What you reckon?

Can you rank the eleven albums?

For a moment there, I thought this would be about GG Allin.

That's Pete Pardo, who has tons of youtube vids regarding mostly metal and prog acts. He's on Facebook too under the Sea of Tranquility banner.

Great:
1. Octopus
2. Acquiring The Taste
3. In a Glass House

Very Good:
4. Three Friends
5. Gentle Giant

Good:
6. Free Hand
7. The Power and the Glory
8. Interview

Poor:
9. Civilian
10. The Missing Piece
11. Giant for a Day

nos. 6 to 9 I actually like about equally, not much between them. The bottom three I can live without altogether and there's a huge gulf between no. 8 and no.9 on my list

I would generally agree with the bottom 4

I was hoping this was gonna be about Grant Green. :(

I've only ever had the S/T album and Octopus, and i like bits of both without ever really feeling the need to get more. A bit too deep prog for me i guess.

I was thinking either Gentle Giant or Gordon Giltrap but Grant Green would have been of interest too. Gary Glitter not so much :)

I might have to start one. On Grant Green, not Gary. :)

Pete just ranked the Airplane studio albums. You can tell he's a little out of his element though... LOL

Through some quirk of collecting, I only own the second, fourth, and sixth albums by this band, which is also true of Ten Years After and once was true of Kiss!
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?
