Pick two "Run" songs

Seriously, only two.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

I picked "Runaway" and "Run Through The Jungle", but there were a surprising number of others that I felt bad about not picking.

Only two was difficult. I voted for "Long Distance Runaround" and "Runaround Sue" .. :)

Different choices (Ventures and Bruce) but same sentiment.
Bugger off.

The Ventures, either original or ‘64 version are ace.

I also went for the ‘other’ option and Lindisfarne - Run For Home for purely Desert Island Disc type sentimentality.
Give a shit or be a shit.

Runaround Sue is one of the greatest songs ever. Dion is such a star - why isn't he bigger?
[Edit - I read that a "Jersey Boys" style musical about him was supposed to open next week! He was 80 last year - I don't recall much hoo-ha about it.]

Then maybe a tie for Kate, Bruce and Beyonce.

There’s a new album coming out, too; one of “duets” with various folk. I’ll buy it of course, but with two reservations.

First is that I suspect most of the duets are phoned in, though I believe all the partners are or were alive at the time (as opposed to, say, dubbing Barry Manilow onto an old Frank Sinatra track).

Second is that most, if not all, of the songs seem to be Dion originals. He’s a good writer, but I distrust albums of all original songs, generally.

I almost picked CCR but decided to go with Kate Bush and Springsteen. It was close.

Del Shannon & other, which is Manfred Mann's Fox on the Run, one of a small handful of songs that rotate thru' my head & emerge audibly from time to time. The refrain from the Velvet's Run Run Run is another.

As some may know, it became a bluegrass standard, with this as the template.
