They might be a bit fey for some tastes but I really enjoyed the UFOF album and then there's this more recent track.

I recommend you give it till 3:20 when they start an excellent guitar wig out.

There's something there (even before the guitar wig-out - which I reckon is only so-so), but that singer is awfully close to a deal-breaker. Still, I might investigate further.

Yeah, sort of like a less invested/intense Thin White Rope.

I did, a little bit. I watched/listened to this:

As with the other, I thought: not a bad song. The vocal was a little less off-putting.

But there's so little apparent creative thought put into the arrangement/playing/overall sound that I was rather surprised to learn that all four members are graduates of the Berklee School of Music. (What are they teaching kids these days?) And that the lead singer has been making records for fifteen years - since she was 13. (Side note: maybe it's just me, but I think she looks disconcertingly like Paul Westerberg. This is not her fault, of course.)

I like them a lot. Don't play their stuff much but I do like them. I liked Capacity and U.F.O.F. but haven't listened to this album more than once. I'll get round to it at some point.

I haven't listened to Capacity.
I must admit that I found U.F.O.F. a bit annoying at first, but it's grown on me. Like Charlie, I'm not a huge fan of her voice.

Good songwriter too, think.

Not was probably the tune of hte year for me last year. And I got to see the band just before the shutdown - great show, wrong venue. I had a strong feeling that I'm not sure is accurate, but i couldn't shake it nonetheless, that Big Thief is what Nirvana would sound like today if Kurt was still alive. I think it's the solo on Not that got me into that way of thinking.
