Do proggers like this?

Postby Rorschach » 15 May 2020, 11:09

I can never get to grips with what exactly constitutes prog, except I seem to hate nearly everything that gets called that. Sometimes I find myself idly wondering whether something non-prog cannon I'm listening to might be considered prog and whether proggers would like it.
Here's an example. It's very pretty, has minimal (and banal) lyrics and turns well proggy just after the 2 minute mark.

What do you think?

Bugger off.

It's pretty good, ii like the way it starts and how the break all of a sudden recalls the Heavy Metal-movie's 70's psych-rock vibe. It's a shame it falls apart thematically at the second part.

Guess you could call it progressive but it would be prog-lite at the highest.

Damn. Back to the drawing board.

Glad you liked some of it though.

Sorry C. I'm never too sure whether an outsider like me is allowed to use the term. I shall try to remember in future.

Now listen to the bloody track and comment on it!

I liked it. Reminds me slightly of Tame Impala recent album.

You're not an outsider Tym lad - you have broad church prog elements...

I quite enjoyed the first 30 seconds then it became repetitive.

After 2 minutes it was a dog's breakfast

Irritating vocals

0.5/10
