PROG GOONS: A new Rory corker!!

Released last week from the family vault.

20-song, previously unreleased set is culled from four shows (London, Brighton, Sheffield and Newcastle) which were part of a 1977 tour across the UK in support of Rory’s then latest album 'Calling Card'. Featuring fantastic live versions of tracks from that album as well as from 1975’s 'Against The Grain' and other live favourites, has been mixed from the original multitrack tapes from the official Rory Gallagher archive and mastered for this release at Abbey Road Studios.

2CD, 100 plus minutes

Excellent sound quality

A no brainer

oooof!

I think I saw him at Leeds University on that tour.
I wasn't a particular fan (though I liked him well enough) but I had a cassette recorder and my best mate was a budding journalist so he got me backstage and we interviewed the great man.

He was very nice though I suspect he found us a bit annoying.
Bugger off.

It's bloody good and an excellent set list.

The sound is really good and the balance of instruments superb - good to hear Lou a a bit up the front of the mix than sometimes and a lot of really good organ in addition to the usual honky tonk piano.

Very nice

A must have indeed

This sums the album up from Angus000 on Amazon:

How does it compare to original live albums?
If you own and love Live in Europe and wish there was another live album that was as "relaxed" and "honest"...
If you own and love Irish Tour 74 but wish it was as a***-kicking and "rock" as Stage Struck...
If you own and love Stage Struck but wish it was as sweet and "blues" as Irish Tour 74...

... then this is the album for you. This is the live album you wish he'd released
