The "No dignity", "No shame" or "No credibility" tour more like it

Last time they played Barcelona I heard the whole concert from my flat. The stadium that the big bands play in is on top of a big hill near the centre of town and I live quite close to the bottom of it.

It was horrible.
Bugger off.

The last time that I saw them was in 2005. While I wasn't disappointed, the concert won't make my top 20. If the tour dates included New York or New Orleans, there would be a chance but it's sort of never say never as I plan on being on the West coast around their San Diego date.

Never is more than likely the wise thing to say. I don't want to be the voice of doom but can't help thinking that the tour won't go as planned either because of an illness or death. There comes a point where it's time to stop touring and I can't imagine that the Stones need the money.

I swore off the Stones and stadium shows in general in 1989. Never again.

I can't believe that Mick & Keef, each worth well over 300 million, still feel they need to do this.

I went last year - never again. While the show was okay, the people were awful. hadn't seen the RS since 78 so figured I would go before they all die.
The crowd was more interested in drinking, talking, walking around and lines around the whole venue for merch.

If tge tickets are not stupidly expensive I would go. However a year or two ago the stones played at the Olympic stadium here in London, and the cheapest tickets were £120 or something like that. Far too much for an outdoor gig.

It would be nice if they played small venues, just showing up on "open mike" night or a karaoke evening. :D

Or the .. For people who have more money than sense tour.

But I can understand someone who has never seen the Stones live wanting that experience, good or bad.

I love The Stones, but I couldn’t be less interested in seeing them live in this period of time.

They are just old blokes trying to look like it’s still 1972 and failing miserably.

Thank goodness we have You Tube for a time machine these days.

A friend wanted me to go with him. I might have considered it had he not recently blew off my request to see Roger Waters!

I mean, fair is fair, right?

Besides, I've already seen them.

They enjoy doing it.

Gotta have a reason to get up in the morning.

Active mind and body extends your life, better than just going for walks or working out in their gyms in old age.

And the money makes it more fun even though they can never spend it.

Precisely! Why should the Stones quit just to please those people who think that they the Stones should retire gracefully to their rocking chairs? The people who think that they should retire aren't the paying customers buying the tickets to their concerts, now are they? And the paying customers are the only ones the Stones need to please.

:geek:

Interesting this business about retiring gracefully. I wonder how many of the commentators who opine that the Stones should retire gracefully would react favourably to the suggestion by some outsider that they themselves should retire gracefully? I can tell you for a fact that I would react very harshly.

No need to be so triggered. You're the one reading age into this. I never said anything about retiring gracefully or rocking chairs or whatever you think is making you so upset. I was referring to the money. If I had that much, I wouldn't be spending months of my life touring the same show which they had last time they came around. This would apply if the Stones were still in their 50s.

I understand they do it because they enjoy it. I'm simply stating I wouldn't do it.

I swear, sometimes I think people log online simply looking for things to trigger them.
