Best non-Beatles "Yesterday", the most covered song in history

Postby GoogaMooga » 11 Jan 2020, 23:29

"Yesterday", a perfect song. Came to McCartney in a dream. It's also the most covered song in history, over 1,000 times, I think. Many may have been elevator music type of covers. Anyway, who other than the Fabs did it best? Who took the most liberties with it? Who destroyed it?

No poll - too many choices. But my vote goes to Ray Charles.

Paul is already on record as having said his favorite Beatles cover is Ray's version of Eleanor Rigby.

I prefer Sinatra's cover
