Playing this now. I bought it when it came out.
I was out at Acoustic Strawbs last night.

Would it have been better with a dash of guitar?
The house that Clete’s musician friend had told him about was a sun-faded pink art deco place stuck back in a cove where a desiccated shrimp boat lay on its side in a slough overgrown with vines and palm and persimmon trees.

Maybe. Maybe not

I love it as it is and Chris's bass makes up for it.

How were the Strawbs? [same line-up?]

I bought this when it was released and loved it. The only two solo Yes albums I truly loved were this and Howe's second album and though my love for Howe's album faded, it has never happened with Squier's. His interplay with Bruford was superb.

Strawbs were Cousins, Cronk and Lambert, all playing acoustic guitars or occasional banjo. They were fine, lots of between song chat from DC. Set included Autumn / The Winter Long, Ghosts, Hangman, Tears & Pavan, Man Who Called Himself Jesus, New World, Lay Down, Shine On Silver Sun, Simple Visions. It would have been better with a full band but you can’t have everything!
