another note about my lists - in the early 00's we made a list of 25+ from each year since birth year(63) but with no order
I've been updating them, eliminating bands with two albums and pairing them down to 10 bands.

Didn't think you were a fan of Throwing Muses! NIce

Love MBV only wish I knew about them in the late 80's and 90's! Damn American never talked about them.

I love Throwing Muses and the offshoot bands - The Breeders, Belly.

As for MBV I saw them live twice in the day - very robust!

That's a nice list Ray.

I'm never sure about the debut Caravan album though...

For what it's worth {sweet FA} I wouldn't place it anywhere near the top 10.

You've shown me yours so I'll show you mine:

A Saucerful of Secrets - Pink Floyd
Wheels of Fire - Cream

Spirit - Spirit

In Search of the Lost Chord - The Moody Blues
Ars Longa Vita Brevis - The Nice

1981

Human League - Dare!
Rolling Stones - Tattoo You
Police - Ghost in the Machine
The Who - Face Dances
Tom Petty - Hard Promises
ELO - Time
Cure - Faith
Pretenders - II
Steve Miller - Circle of Love
Rod Stewart - Tonight I'm Yours

Really struggled to find 10 here. Looking at the long list I've got quite a few albums from '81 but not many I'd rush out to buy again if I lost them, not even sure I'd bother about a couple I've listed. As has been said elsewhere, not a good year for me.

I had considered a couple of the ones you listed C but apart from the ones we agreed upon nothing really grabbed me. Apart from the choices we shared I do have 7 if not 8 of those you listed, (can't remember if I've got Wilder), but they just don't do much for me. Pretty rum year.
