Fania Records, top latin label

Hello! Anyone know why Fania dropped the CD format and now only release vinyl and digital? Their OOP CDs are pricey now.

Their whole back catalogue has been out of print for a decade of so. My guess is because some of their (Miami) distributors like Bassin have gone bankrupt at the same time.

And yeah, a lot of their CDs appear on discogs and eBay for crazy prices. Even some of the worst selling titles appear now to be highly sought.

Yeah, but they are still in business, with vinyl and digital. It's only the CD's - maybe they weren't making enough there to make it worthwhile.
