Looks pretty similar to one I remember seeing in the late-'80s or early '90s. Sail Away topped that list too.

I know Danny Hutton's a friend, but I wonder why that Three Dog Night album? They weren't exactly an "album band," but they had at least four that were better than that one.

Pure guesswork on my side but I'd think perhaps it's more to do with bad memories and the band infighting associated with its recording, since the circumstances around it so often colours ones perception of an album more than the explicit quality of the songs themselves. That could be at least partly why he has Between The Buttons in there as well - it's a great record but perhaps more importantly for him he was also there when it was being recorded (although I don't think he features on it).

Not so. There was a bit of resistance, from Mike in particular, but everyone, including Mike, could hear how brilliant it was, and they all went along with it, had the prayer sessions, and so on. Brian was immensely proud of what he'd done and played it for Marilyn. It's more to do with touring it to death, and also that the others he mentions have some standouts, like "California Girls", which he feels is his greatest achievement.

I didn't know that he sat in on the BTB sessions , but I would have to agree, it is in many ways the best album of The Rolling Stones.
