Ooh, good one.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Every time I see the cover I can feel the texture of the LP cover (likewise Fairport Full House)

Good afternoon/evening! I raise my glass to wish you good health & happiness and to toast absent friends.
Have started playing John Barleycorn - great groove to start off proceedings.

Yes, sorry JJ
Originally intended as a Winwood solo album after the band had disbanded
My recollection is that Steve got ill (TB) and had to rely on his old mates Jim and Chris....
This led to a reunion (minus Mason)
A much better band to my ears - as much as I lovce Dave and his solo albums

Yes - the two I mention had a matt (non glossy feel) like recycled paper these days - I can smell them too!
Great piano from Steve - one of my mega-heroes!
Straight into Freedom Fighter - awesome

And on to the wonderful Freedom Rider.
Mr Wood's is an impressive musician - up there with Pete Zorn.

Back in 1970 I had four albums on constant roatation for about 6 months:
If - If
Audience - Friends Friend's Friend
Traffic - John Barleycorn
Full House - Fairport Convention
Fantastic flute duet!
Incredible

Should start a thread on the feel of album sleeves - I'd be casting my vote for matt too. Lindisfarne's Nicely Out of Tune feels good, tho' slightly thin.

Great album choice!
1970 was a bit too soon for me to own any albums - another couple of years to go.

Did Steve's voice peak on this album? Did he ever sound better?
