But there’s so much missed stuff for all of us throughout the years and even less time now.

No, Googa, Abbey Road benefits because it is one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

After the misery and breakdown of the Let It Be sessions, Side 2 of Abbey Road is little short of a miracle.

So, not a lot of surprises thus far. The Beatles are probably going to come out on top of an albums poll for any year from '63 - '69; the iconic first Crimson platter is doing well, and the near-perfect third Velvets LP is popular. Noteworthy that at present there's no love for Beck/Stewart, Joe Cocker, or MC5 though. And where is the Peter Green brigade? According to them that's Fleetwood Mac's best album. Of course, it could be that there were just so many great offerings in 1969 that there is an embarrassment of riches to choose from. I might do a 1979 poll next.

I agree with side 2, McCartney's masterpiece. But really, being lumbered with the double downer of Maxwell and Octopus does Abbey Road no favors.

Yes, the anti-Abbey Road voices have always been loud, especially in terms of "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." But apparently the silent majority have had their say.

Yes I'm not a fan of LZ either but recognize those albums for what they are.
I saw Rich at a concert once luckily he didn't know who I was.
