Poor old Koss - what a waste of a talent

Do you remember his actor dad David...?

Interesting - I like that he's not too busy, but a tighter/more emphatic punctuator might have caused more sparks.

Beautiful voice. Should have a paperback of his religious short stories up in the attic!

An admission to make: I had completely forgotten that Andy Fraser was dead (2015)

That's worrying...

He was 18 when this was recorded!

RIP Andy

Yes, and again it's the space that makes it.

The drums are nagging me a little now - I'd like them a tad sharper.

Guitar and bass are stunning!

I enjoyed reading this book a few years ago. Docherty was the promoter of the Bay Hotel in Sunderland, where I assume this was recorded. He had a few anecdotes about Free, whom he clearly rated highly as a musical band, and how they were never short of female fans whom they would do their best to satisfy...

Free Me - another moody classic.

From Wiki

The album (including the extra tracks) was recorded from gigs played in the UK at both The Locarno, Sunderland (January 1970) and Croydon's Fairfield Halls (September 1970), both places where Free had strong followings. Engineer Andy Johns could only use two tracks from the Sunderland gig ("The Hunter" and "All Right Now"), but used crowd noise from it frequently to create seamless links between tracks. With increased re-mastering technology available it has been possible to make others ready for the CD reissue, along with some alternate takes of tracks recorded at the second of the two Croydon sessions that were recorded.
