Anne Murray

Postby GoogaMooga » 17 Sep 2019, 14:57

Picked up my first Anne Murray today, a nice Capitol titty for a mere 30 p. Lovely stuff, a smooth blend of country and adult contemporary. Turns out she's Canadian, the first Canadian female vocalist to ever hit Billboard #1. I recognize a few of the songs, like "Snowbird", but It's not like she filled the airwaves here. And it's the first time in my years of second hand CD shopping that I have come across her. Very 70s, very smooth, very soft, very mellow, you could play her music for yer granny without causing offense. She is the Karen Carpenter of countrypolitan.

Uhm, just me and Zilth Pilchards. Consider it a neologism.
