There's that guitar sound! He's not my favourite bit when he's good, he's great.

I think it was rather the vogue at the time, wasn't it? In a way, the solo album was yet another justification for punk. Record labels indulging their cash cows...

If the solo records had been crap, then maybe some justification.

But they were all good in their own way.

Yes, it’s beautiful. Gilmour’s signature sound here. Absolutely no one like him.

Another lyric to Waters. After the acrimony of the Animals tour and the spitting incident.

That’s right. And in 1985, Gilmour won. Seriously kicked Waters arse.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Roger Waters. But he was a nasty piece of work.

I think the title of this refers to Gilmour always recording at full volume in the studio.

A almost dreamlike solo - it's a shame it fades when it was just getting going

Deafinitely - always sounds a bit Steve Hackett - like his solo albums from the same period

Only a bit

I had no love for Rodge until last summer when Nat and I saw him in Hyde Park. He was truly magnificent and Nat, whose only knowledge of PF up to that point had been the song, Wish You Were Here, declared it the best gig she'd ever seen. Totally unforgettable. Of course, we're both quite political....
