That’s right. And in 1985, Gilmour won. Seriously kicked Waters arse.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Roger Waters. But he was a nasty piece of work.

I think the title of this refers to Gilmour always recording at full volume in the studio.

A almost dreamlike solo - it's a shame it fades when it was just getting going

Deafinitely - always sounds a bit Steve Hackett - like his solo albums from the same period

Only a bit

After Dark Side Of The Moon, they were fucked.

I never knew this until years later.

But here’s Gilmour’s anger laid bare. Nowhere more so, than in his guitar playing.

Well, you shouldn’t. The next three albums were all masterpieces in their own way.

Brought a delightfully mellow end to my week.

Many thanks all.

To be fair, Gilmour didn’t have Waters sense of timing.

Even Final Cut? I do have a friend who really likes it, but then he doesn't really like any other Floyd.

It will probably be a while before I play any Floyd post ( & not including) Dark Side. Partly burn out, partly just finding the sound rather too polished for my taste.

It's A Saucerful, Meddle and Atom Heart for me.

I dislike The Wall and only heard The Final Cut once.

That was enough

I entirely agree re: the polish of Dark Side and Wish You

Yes, The Final Cut. A really dark, depressing album that sadly reflects the conflict of then and now.

Rogers Waters first, and best, solo album.
