RIP Nick Walusko, AKA Nicky Wonder (Brian Wilson Band)

Don't want to exaggerate the personal connection here, as he wasn't a close friend, but this one particularly stings. I have many close friends who were closer to him than I (for instance, he was heavily involved on both production and musical levels with my wife's album, and I suspect Quaco knew him pretty well and probably played with him on multiple occasions). He was also part of the Syd tribute that Zoomboogity put together, where pillowz and I met, and I actually played with him once or twice that night.

Brian's facebook post is touching, and to what little degree I knew him, he was a good-natured guy with a great sense of humor. Apparently he died in his sleep. Haven't heard further details, but he seems to have gone peacefully. It's been a crazy week.

That is a sore one. Liked his work with The Wondermints and saw him many times with Wilson.

Inappropriate, but i think Brian is going to outlive everyone!
Some mother's talking 'bout Guns' n 'Roses

That's really sad news. Having seen him play many times with Brian Wilson, I was always hoping to see the Wondermints live. From posts on various BW/BB message boards he seemed like a real top guy to all who encountered him. Sympathies to the BCBers who knew him personally.

Always a shame to read news like this. I guess I would have seen him on the SMiLE tour. Exceptional band.

Very sad news. I have been holding on for another Wondermints album at some point, but that seems even less likely now.
