Yes - Close to the Edge
Genesis - Foxtrot
Tull- Thick as a Brick
GG- Three Friends and Octopus

Wow!

All full of music and shed-leads of robustness but which album has the greatest ooof factor?

I have 3 tops but only two choices!

Bugger!

Yes - just the Trevor Horn albums, which are ooof x 10
Jethro Tull - more generous there, plenty of good ones

Both the Gentle Giant's for me.

Although coming around to Yes, Tull & Genesis I didn't warm to them when they were being enjoyed by my contemporaries whereas GG were clearly under appreciated and quirkier. Not an entirely objective opinion perhaps, really should give Tull in particular more of a listen whereas I know that Gabriel's voice tends to jar a little on me and I much prefer The Yes Album than Close to the Edge.

Same here JJ

Same here

The three essentials from Chris' list are Thick, Fox and 3F

I just can't reduce it to two!

Nay, I can't

TaaB is the one that's meant the most to me in my life, though I probably haven't given Foxtrot as much time as it deserves.

That was the first Yes album I had problems connecting with, though I prefer it to the next several.

Not a GG fan at all, though I've liked the occasional track.

Grave New World over any of these, of course!

Earthband wasn't released, it escaped. It's classed as live, but it's barely breathing. However, hats off to you Mr Slider ....do you think I should re install the missing oooof ?

This is matter of conscience, Mr Breeze

You do know this little beauty, I am sure.
It is the Earthbound band but in a much better quality recording

I'll go with Yes and JT, never got in to Genesis or GG but would always choose Stand Up over any other JT.
