The Virgins

Postby GoogaMooga » 14 May 2019, 19:24

I am enjoying the hell out of The Virgins' eponymously titled album from 2008, on Atlantic. A very talented New York-based band, indie turned major, imagine if The Strokes had tunes and were a bit more bass-heavy, and that's The Virgins for ya. They broke up in 2013 because they had outgrown that sort of nonsense. Dunno what they are doing now, but they did also have an album out on Julian Casablancas' label, Cult Records, which really underscores that whole New York connection thingy and the comparison with The Strokes. I don't mind that their output is so small, quit while you're on top, I say.
