I like the harmonies in this one at the very end. They almost sound innocent. Alternate reality Buzzcocks when they are actually the Zombies.

But until then it's pure savagery.

The rhythm section is just manic energy. I wouldn't last one song on either instrument.

You Tear Me Up!
Devoto songs have a bit more menace about them, no?

No let up . . . a few swats of the drum and the buzzsaws are back right away. Relentless.
With the weird acidic effect on the vocals, like Revolver era Beatles.

The drums on this one are weird. Like that Rolling Stones song where Charlie Watts refused to play and Jimmy Miller had to.

Did they just change time signatures mid-song? More signs of prog-punk.

It's no surprise so many kids shoved fucking safety pins through their nipples is it?
I mean, this rhythm section is a natural anesthetic. You wouldn't even notice!

Get On Our Own almost sounds like a break.
I love it when they go full pop. Dopey backing vocals and all.

Get On Our Own.
Love all Shelley's whining, pleading, lamenting little frantic pleas.

This is one of my favorites. There are a few cool, knowing melodic touches Shelley throws in that I always love.

I love the band when he says "me and you" and "me and you could do"
that stop start things. Fuck the Pixies.

I am 49. I have never, not once, in my entire life had the urge to shove a safety pin through my nipples. Or any other body part. But then I have lived a pretty sheltered life.
