How will ABBA release the two new songs

Postby GoogaMooga » 18 Jan 2019, 19:35

Superdeluxe talks about a summer release and speculates about how the two new ABBA songs will be presented. I agree with them, the last thing we need is yet another hits package, now with the new songs tacked on. I wouldn't mind a CD single, but best of all would be if they record some more and if they have anything left in the vaults, a whole new album!

How about the best vintage songs that aren't on the hits comps -- "Best of the Rest" plus the two new ones.
They could call it Yesterday and Today.

They already did that with "More Gold". And there were the three early, unremastered Pickwick comps, ABBA Hits vols. 1-3.

God forbid they should recycle their stuff again, especially with new material as a come-on. What was I thinking?

(so, then: what did you have in mind with "as bonus on comp"?)

I was not wishing for a comp, only mentioned the likelihood that that is what we'll get.

They have unreleased stuff which should come out someday, but two brand-new songs -- they should just be standalone singles. Artistically, there's no reason to lump them with 40-year-old material.
