Juicy Lucy, anyone?

Postby GoogaMooga » 09 Jan 2019, 18:59

Got the sophomore effort at Accord, "Lie Back and Enjoy It". It was a blind purchase, as I mainly know them for the album cover of the S/T debut.
Looks like there are two cover designs for that one, and Esoteric has reissued the one that I remember:

Such a cover is enough to make me want to explore further. The sophomore album is down and dirty bar room boogie rock, a more raucous Status Quo with a mean Mojo hand guiding them through the murky waters of Vertigo label madness.
1966 and all that

Based on what little I've heard of them, I haven't gone out of way to investigate their music. They had a connection to the much-loved Misunderstood, on 'Nuggets' fame, don't they?
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Wasn't impressed at the time of first release, couple of good tracks, probably like it better now than I did originally.

Yes, at least two members were ex-Misunderstood.

Juicy Lucy - the prostitute in Leslie Thomas' comic novel The Virgin Soldiers

They had a rollickin' single.

Some ooofness in general but not an abundance.

Points for this, too:

Things that a fella can't forget...
