I don't really like it that much - but it sounds better than I remember it AND it sounds better than most chart hits I hear today

Curiosity Killed the Cat was a British pop band that achieved success in the UK in the late 1980s, with hit singles such as "Down To Earth", "Misfit" and "Ordinary Day", from their No. 1 debut album, Keep Your Distance. This was followed by Getahead with the accompanying hit "Name and Number"....In the early 1990s, the band's bassist left, and billed as 'Curiosity' they collaborated with Simon Cowell recording "Hang On in There Baby" on the album Back to Front.[3]

That bit sounds like a paragraph on Bon Jovi (The album Slippery When Wet which contained such hit singles as "Wanted Dead Or Alive", "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Blaze of Glory", "Bad Medicine", "Go For It!", and "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service"...).

It's fine. I liked it at the time. Very catchy with a relaxed groove, the kind of thing that makes you smile when it comes on the radio.
It'll never be the kind of thing that gets retrospectively lauded but it's good pop music.

Lead singer Ben Volpelierre-Pierrot was best known for wearing a beret in most pictures of the band. He later revealed it was in fact a peaked fisherman's hat, turned round with the peak to the rear so that it resembled a beret.

It’s fine. Listenable and pleasant. Nothing earthshattering but a million miles better than Thin Lizzy or Mott the Hoople or some of the other stuff that kept popping up in the ’70s Cup, for example.

It's better than that Van Der Graaf Generator stuff you inflicted on us. Hippy!

I like it a lot - I stick it on playlists from time to time as it’s mostly forgotten and it’s an enjoyable pop hit, evocative of its time. Dont sweat it, BCB.
