Hit or Shit: Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc.

Postby fange » 09 Nov 2018, 06:36

What do you think of this one from way back in 2005?

Did you like then? Do you feel the same about it today?

Loved it then, still love it now.

It's an original and infectious groove, and I think I never loved Albarn's singing better (the chorus, not the verse with the megaphone).

Not terrible, but a bit dull. The chorus is nothing special and neither is the groove. One of those tracks that seems to be working with very little.

I didn't vote though because I don't understand the difference between the last two options.

Hit, Shit, and Meh just means you're not really fussed either way.

Typical of the sort of tuneless beat-driven rubbish that has characterised pop music in this country ever since, sadly.

Like everything Albran has done, it is a massive turd. A waste of everyone's effort. What a cunt he is.

It's not often I agree with yomp, but he may just have nailed this music criticism lark. Apart from calling him Albran.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Absolute tuneless cack.

Albarn’s saving grace is setting up Honest Jon’s record shop.

It’s not bad. It’s certainly not shit but whenever Albarn is involved you get hatred.

It’s no Dare though. That was their shining moment

it's okay! I'd like it on a playlist with about 800 other songs. it won't come around too often and won't wear out it's welcome when it does.

I somehow managed to avoid it when it was released, and it just gave me a headache when I listened to it now.

It doesn't scream glorious to me. Just lazy, hazy and ineffective.
