Like the clip, the Stripes are fairly one-dimensional even if it is quite energetic.
So much more depth in the Roses-track.

A is still a noisy bit of fun, but B is brilliant.

A is great fun. B makes me feel like a happier, better, more confident person in the world just for knowing it exists

SBTD was when I realised that the Stone Roses were a fantastic band.

A is just boring old 2nd rate garage rock crap.

The Roses, at their best, still sound effortless in that way the best pop music always does. Their melodicism and lightness of touch now seem like remnants from a bygone era. Drums really flies.

The White Stripes did better but just sound earthbound in comparison

I remember some people going absolutely fucking apeshit over The White Stripes at the time - in the cold light of day, much of their output sounds like the chosen track - uninspired second rate school band garbage.

The Stone Roses win by default.

Is the correct answer.

Fange gets it spot on again. I still dig FILWAG (great acronym) but ultimately it’s a little out of its weight class.
