Why do you always use "we", as if you represent the whole board? Anyway, to answer your question, you could post images or drop names of contemporary persons you see as saviors of music.

You might have asked that question yourself.

By the way - Pharrell Williams is 45 and Jay-Z is 48. Hardly 'young'.

Pharrell that old, huh? Well, he stands as the brightest hope, I think, the new Dre. Wish I could point to someone even younger, but that's what the thread is for.

I thought that cover was some kind of elaborate joke, but a quick google reveals glowing reviews of it. :o

A mere 69. And still with plenty left to give, if only he could find a Parfitt replacement. My tip -Neil Finn.

I wouldn’t right off David Crosby just yet

Let's salvage this dumb thread. I was just today thinking that I'm mostly happy to give music a decade or so to sort wheat from chaff. I listen to new stuff when I come across it but I don't have the energy to seek it out. Sad, really.

I did play this album the other day and liked it a lot. Smart, poetry style rapping with jazzy beats.

It's a few years old now, I guess. Sloop might know it.

Just playing the first track, sounds like sloppy gurgling to me. Pharrell, please.

Pharrell's "Popular Thug" for Kelis, tight, sharp, exciting, with a strong chorus:
