I am a grump. I saw Pulp live in '95, bought Different Class, which I love, His and Hers, which I love but I've never liked Common People. Perhaps a bit like Bittersweet Symphony, songs by bands I like that is their biggest hit yet I can't stand them.

Girl From Mars kicks the arse of everything.

Absolutely, I love that song. I remember bouncing around the floor of Wigan Pier nightclub to that on my 20th birthday, being a drunken danger to all and sundry. Pity they never really captured both energy and tune again.
