They’re all interesting and admirable in their own way but are ultimately rather cold and hard to love.

There is something very dry and lifeless about her records.

That's where i stand too. A friend gave me a couple of albums to check out, and none of them seemed to stick despite having a few good sounding songs and sounds. They just didn't speak to me or draw me in.

Rather embarrasingly I know nothing about her.
It's like a lot of modern music - tasteful, very professionally done and not very distinctive. The musical equivalent of those minimal cream living rooms you get in interior design magazines.
No one really needs this in their record collection do they?

Which is a good thread idea. Albums of the last 15-20 years that would be essential to your collection.

No for me, I would possibly found her music more appealing in 1991, but it’s far to retro for me, and I still have plenty of 1991 albums to listen to if I feel the need.
