Kath?! Taste?
To paraphrase a famous philosopher: if it weren't for bad taste, she wouldn't have no taste at all.

I'm thinking of avoiding anything from 1970 in case it turns out to have been first released on Dec 31st 1969 in Papua New Guinea

i'm good with it. mwhaha
Ignore the cloth-eared haters. I'm sure I will vote for every one of yours as you have immaculate taste, unless it's against mine obviously
too kind. mind ya, we'll wait to see how this one plays out (ahem), but such a lovely sentiment moves the cochlea of my soul.
i really do ignore the cloth-eared haters. i hear them tryin to bang at the door when i'm making a list for any cup. so i turn the music up and stick with what my primary strategy has always been; namely, to put up tracks i lovvvvve.
hey, in my 12 years on this board, it has worked exactly... once.
what's another 12 years?

i only had one i really had to check, right on the borderline. therefore, being a thorough lass, i went through the exhaustive process of checking many sources online (aka, i looked at the album label).

Is it OK to include an alternate take of a 70s song recorded at the same time but released much later (2000s)?
I guess it's a no, but just in case.

As long as the recording itself took place in the 70s, then it's allowed.
Already had one other player asking a similar question so if you want to include a track from one of the millions of reissued 70s-albums about, go for it.

Is it okay to include a Chris & Cosey record written and released in 1991?
This question isn't for me you understand, I'm asking it on behalf of Darkness Fish

That's unfair, as I was tailoring my selection for you. It was all coming from a 20 Jazz Funk Greats album..

This is my approach too. I know I'm going down, but I want to do it in a blaze of glory! Now which James Last track should I choose?
