Ditto
Information is not knowledge. Knowledge is not wisdom. Wisdom is not truth. Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not love. Love is not music. Music is the best…

Most of them are dreadful. Lame pub rock and terrible Americanised vocals.
Pump it up is alright.

Yeah.
I quite like this one:

Yeah that's better. It's a Dylan 66 rip off, but it's done with a certain spirit.

Either 'Americanized vocals' are a bad thing or they aren't. Just because he's doing a Dylan on that track, doesn't mean it's not an Americanized vocal. capiche?

Re: Elvis Costello the Rocker
I picked the songs off of This Year's Model, his most rocking album.
The first and King of America have some good ones, but he put it all together, rockin' wise, on that one.

Elvis Costello doesn't sound American. Stop being silly, people.

I agree. I just love 'em because they sound so American!
I had a feeling that "Pump it Up" & "...Chelsea" were going to mop this up so I voted "No Action", "5Gears" and "I Hope You're Happy Now" because I think they rule.

Chelsea, Oklahoma...right?
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Bit early for Matty to work out the difference between 'Dylan 66 rip off' and 'Americanised vocals', I suppose...

Re: Elvis Costello the Rocker
Bit early for you two to tell us the difference between Dylan's vocals and an Americanised vocal too. I guess if it's an NME-approved yank like Zimmie, then it's okay.

I guess it could be said about hundreds of BCB threads, but how did such an innocent topic degrade so quickly?
