Counting Crows I guess. Most bands that I dislike, there's at least something I like from them (Radiohead, R.E.M.). It has to be a special kind of nondescript band to have absolutely no time for anything they did.

That's really stretching the definition of major-league, surely?

Apparently, they have sold over 20 million records worldwide! Hopefully they are being used as fuel in third-world countries or something.

:)

I think Joni Mitchell comes closest, for me. But I like a couple of her songs. Same goes for Prince.

Blimey. I couldn't name a single song by them. I did once chip in to buy the owner of rateyourmusic an Adam Duritz(sp?) pillow as a surprise present though.

Did the Duritz wig not translate in the UK ?? Geez that freakin' album was everywhere in the US in '94 and the one song I can name, "Mr. Jones" was omnipresent for months...Hope the wigs he used in the 90's are heating the third world as fuel...

Nope. Then again, in 1994, I didn't really know much of anything based in reality, so perhaps they were huge and I missed it. Plot was properly lost for most of that year.

Cunting Crows may very well have been more of a US thing. We love that "real" shit. Also Hootie, Dave Matthews, Bruce Hornsby, etc.

Man, you just programmed The Devil's own festival lineup.
*shudder*
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

We used to refer to a certain variety of over-abundant, independently-pressed records as "landfill indie."

You think they're bad? You should try listening to whole album by the Three Falsettos.
