Low - Curious Bowie play on the radio

Postby Brickyard Jack » 08 Jul 2018, 06:24

On bbc radio iplayer you can listen to a play about Bowie recording Low. It is meant to be slightly comic. How much of it is true I have no idea. It is a decent play though. I liked the portrayal of Brian Eno best - he has a lovely professional detachment amidst the chaos. Also there are some nice moments with a 5/6 year old Zowie enjoying being with his weird Dad and his weird friends.

I'm not sure how that would help.

I can't find it on there anyway, so we're none the wiser.

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I refuse to believe a recommendation from Positive Passion will be anything other than pure spun fucking gold.

I don't like all these wankers taking the piss. Making him sound like some thick geezer.
He was our South London hero John ..you know?

(to use a GB rhetorical device).

I just think fuck off and write plays about something else.

Well, I suppose if Woolwich can relocate to North London, Sarf London might annex Kent...
