Happy Birthday (White Man) In Hammersmith Palais

40 years old.

A fine song despite the dodgy underpinning (white bloke sneers at yer actual black fellas for not being authentic enough).

The B sides better though.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I love the song, but don't really love the lyrics - a bit dubious and disingenuous if you ask me.

On tour, the Clash did do some good things - Bo Diddley, Mikey Dread and Big Joe Williams as US tour openers.

Trouble is, all those should have been the headliners over the Clash.
Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk!

2nd only to Complete Control.

Magnificent record

What's wrong with the lyrics anyway?
Great track.

It's pretty good but half the first album is better.

I went to the Dillinger show on that poster. It was chaos.

The song is useless half baked cod reggae. As is everything in that vein attempted by those wankers.
You don't like me...do you?
