Saw him playing with John Mayall circa Bare Wires - that was a great band.

What a shame.

From a more recent show, but the whole of the Valentyne Suite is featured.

A great drummer - saw him live on the first Colosseum reunion tour.

Found some footage of Colosseum II on YouTube

And here he is with his wife, Barbara Thompson

Nice Felix

I recall seeing Paraphenalia at a tiny venue [the bar area of the Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch, Essex] one Sunday lunchtime as part of a regular jazz club

I was with my dad and present girlfriend [don't tell Mrs C] - my dad liked a bit of jazz.

There were about 40 people milling around having a drink and a chat.

Jon's kit was un-miced - I was 6 feet from his tom-tom!

The line-up and period was of Felix's clip - around 1991 [maybe a year or two earlier] and that line-up also

Those guys could play!

Barbara and the guiatrist were stunning but Jon was amazing - thoroughly enjoying himself and playing his arse/ass of!

A nice bloke too - a lovely chat in the bar with him at the end of the gig

I gig I have alwasy remembered with great clarity and love.

When I name my fave tub-thumpers Hiseman is always there.

Jon, morituri te salutant

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
