Lost John Coltrane Recording From 1963 To Be Released

Postby Snarfyguy » 08 Jun 2018, 23:38

Who's up for checking this out? I know I am!

I don't like the cover or the title, but it's what's inside that counts.

Apologies for the size; it's the only pic I could find.

I'd like to know what -- other than choosing the tunes (meaning some were left out?) -- THIS means:

Ravi Coltrane, John Coltrane’s son...helped prepare “Both Directions at Once” for release.

(and I like the cover)

But for those who buy the deluxe edition, with seven alternate takes from the same session on a separate disc,...

As I noted on the Random Music Stuff thread, I'd like to know what THIS means:
This was a ground-shaking band, an almost physical being

But those are alternate takes, not different songs. Unless he helped decide which to designate the master take.
