Come Back songs

Postby sloopjohnc » 06 Jun 2018, 16:45

Not return to forms, but songs about a partner coming back or a plea to return.

How did you manage to exclude The Equals?

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Player, the bargaining before She’s Gone’s acceptance.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

That Player track is literally the worst thing I've heard this year. And that's taking into consideration all sounds, not just music.

Elvis all the way, with Jimmy Osbourne in second place.

I liked the Johnny Osbourne song. Never heard that before.

Wow, never saw that Jellyfish video before, and it's about the awfullest thing I've ever seen. I'm going to forget I saw it. :) They're best as an occasional and audio-only experience.

Chose Johnny Osbourne, but The Equals track is vastly superior to all of them...

Aretha's the class one there - song written (mostly) by Stevie Wonder. Although I do have very pleasant memories of the Player track being the hold music on The Simpsons when Homer called to report Maggie missing.

What you are to prog on here, I am to reggae. I'm just more judicious in my predilections and don't feel the need to flaunt them at every drop of a cape.

The Elvis and Osborne are great, but they're different kind of songs from the others, which all have real longing in them. Although the Aretha is a bit stalky now that I think about it. :D

Funny you should write that, i stuck the Otis Clay song in there because I wanted a variety, but he's kinda already made up his mind.

Or she has, and he's accepted it.

Please give the following song a BCB chance...you may be pleasantly surprised

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

I applied Matt Wilson rules. No UK songs potentially approved by the NME.

I like the song, but there are some chord changes that the singer doesn't necessarily catch up with.

Vic gets by on character, not chord changes.
Glad you liked it, though!

It's not the worst thing I've ever heard. But only because of that Player track.
