The Icicle Works

Postby fange » 15 May 2018, 05:22

This blast from the '80s came up on a shuffle this morning and got me thinking about them again...

What did you/do you think of the Liverpudlian lads?

Favourite songs and albums? Did they ever top the debut LP?

I thought they were brilliant. The third LP probably matches the first, but I liked them all at the time, even the schizophrenic Blind.

I'd go along with that. Probably played If You Want to Defeat... more than the first, for all its more obviously rockist ways.

"Whisper" was a huge radio hit in my area. I never heard anything else by them, though.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

I liked the album with Up here in the North of England, but my wife liked the next one. They were throughly entertaining on record, but atrocious when they played the Reading Festival (blown away by Fields of the Nephilim).

No.
