I'm not normally that upset when famous people die, but this has knocked me for six. I never met Scott but we saw him play with FR and solo on numerous occasions and he always came across as a warm, funny, lovely bloke.

I'm not sure I can adequately describe what his music's meant to me since I first heard FR in 2010. You know when music comes into your life at exactly the right time, when you need it the most? It was like that with their Midnight Organ Fight and Winter of Mixed Drinks albums. For various reason, I had a difficult couple of years between 2009-11, and Scott's music helped me to get up, fix up and face the day more times than I can count. For months I listened to little else. I lived inside those songs.

We last saw FR only a few weeks ago, touring the tenth anniversary of the release of Midnight Organ Fight, and he seemed, if anything, happier than I'd ever seen him. Seeing the crowd singing those songs back at him word for word obviously really touched him.

RIP Scott, and thanks for the music. It saved me, in a very real sense. I'm deeply sad that it seems it couldn't save him.

RIP Scott. Sad another troubled musician takes his life.
This just happens too often to musicians maybe a program should be setup in the industry or something (support group?)

FR were a nice young band.
