Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

I would've picked Black Dog or Whole Lotta Love for Led Zeppelin, but the Ocean is good.

One of my favorite uses of it.

Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk!

Walk this Way
Johnny B. Goode - rock riffs start with this
Daytripper
Smoke on the Water
You Really Got Me - Can't Explain is just an homage to this, albeit a very good one
The Ocean
Satisfaction
Heart Full of Soul
Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk!

Blues Theme, Paperback Writer, Johnny B Goode, Louie, Louie, You Really Got Me, Satisfaction, Sweet Jane, Heart Full of Soul.
Mostly riffs that made me pick up a guitar when I was a kid.

There are so many more I could have picked for Zep, Sabbath, and Hendrix.

Should be there.

And several aren't riffs really - more like chord progressions ('Sweet Jane', for one)

Agreed re: In A Garda Da Vida, but there are still loads of memorable songs here.

Just going by the historical value of the riffs to me, I’m going with:

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Smoke On The Water.
All Day And All Of The Night.
Hocus Pocus.
Should I Stay Or Should I Go.

The most important of these 5, is probably The Kinks. I saw Ray Davies doing a one man show once, and he told a story about when The Kinks we’re supporting The Beatles on a package tour. After The Kinks had soundchecked, Lennon & McCartney wandered onto the stage, to check out the razor blade slashes Dave Davies had made to his amp. After the inspection, Lennon told Ray Davies that if The Kinks got stuck for songs, they could use some of The Beatles. I think Dave Davies is probably the father of Heavy Metal.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, is the monster here.

or "Sunshine of your Love" or "Simple Sister" or "Aqualung" or a hundred others I thought of later? I'll have to do a second poll at some point.
