Abstain, too close to call. Both very good. Of their time, sure. I had a good time at that time.

I have a strong dislike for the Beastie Boys, but oddly enough, don’t mind parts of Check Your Head.
Nevertheless, it will always be “Cannonball” by a country mile.

Lots of people always say that about Pod and Last Splash. I disagree of course. I think Last Splash is miles better. Similarly, people trot out nonsense like Belly and Throwing Muses. And, of course, they are no competition whatsoever. Last Splash is the balls.

'Cannonball' for me. Not that i don't love 'Sabotage', just not as much.
There is so much youthful vigour on offer here my juices are flowing!

Yeah, but where do stand on 'Wicked Game' Charlie? Makes 'Cannonball' sound like 'Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm', right?

yes they do. I was a bigger fan of Last Splash until around the early 00's. I like them both going to see them in a few weeks only a few miles from office.
In regards to Belly which album then?
Star or King?
I'm a Tanya fan

At the time, it was kinda outside their wheelhouse but it did point in the eventual direction they were going to take.
Cannonball is great, start to finish. I like lots of the indie bands of this period, but not a ton of great songs came out of the era, if that makes any sense at all. This was one of them, however.
Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk!

'Cannonball' is fine, but I'm a bit mystified as to its 'indie classic' status ( or maybe it doesn't have that status and it's just JC going on about it on here all the time?). I like its cool, loping feel and because I didn't hear it much at the time it's not played out for me. The Beasties track is just a noise, dreadful rapping too, but it's a really fun video. I've always liked it purely for the video really.

I don't remember mentioning it here before! maybe I did
but it's definitely regarded as one of those once-in-a-generation indie classics and The Breeders, as cool as they are, haven't done anything else anywhere near as good.

I seem to remember you did another poll where you pitted it off against 'Freak Scene'.
I like the record...it just doesn't seem that different or superior to a lot of other stuff that was happening in the 90s. For e
example I always really liked some tracks Luscious Jackson did, but they seem totally forgotten today..this is a good'un and has a similar riff.
