Soundalike songs

Postby Scally Mcgrew » 16 Apr 2018, 16:49

Been done before, I know, but anyway...

I can't link to videos, I'm afraid, but try these for size:

'Brickyard Blues' - Allen Toussaint and 'Let's Call It Quits' - Slade

'Cold Turkey' - Plastic Ono Band and 'Art For Art's Sake' - 10CC

'Surf's Up' - Beach Boys and 'She Makes My Day' - Robert Palmer
Know what really makes me mad? They clean me with a Brillo pad...

Doobie Brothers "Long Train Running"/Led Zep "Trampled Underfoot"
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

A little maybe, but Trampled Under Foot's groove seems to stop and start more. And there's a hint of a chorus in it where I don't think Long Train Running has any at all except for the break when Tom Johnson sings, "Where Would We be Now?"

I always thought In A Gadda Da Vida and Sunshine of Your Love were pretty similar.
