" Through constant decay. Uranium creates the radio active ray.
Durch stetigen Zerfall Entstehen radioaktive Strahlen aus dem Urankristall".

Took me ages to decypher the lyric, well before the age of the computer.

Chilling stuff. Almost like it's being uttered by Mr. Spock in the end of The Wrath Of Khan.

Would it be harsh to imagine this as Stephen Hawking's death rattle? It's how I've always pictured it.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Kraftwerk would play in Europe quite a bit in 1976, most notably in France where "Radioactivity" was something of a commercial success.

Early on, material from the earlier years is still apparent.

But by October, the songs that would feature on Trans Europe Express a year later are already pretty much fully formed. However, these would be their last gigs for 5 years - it would not be until 1981 that they would be seen onstage again.

Love Hall Of Mirrors the best on this album. Siouxsie made a nice cover of this too.

One of the loveliest little sequences created.
There's an elegance in this that belies the subject matter.

Great track!
Find it hard to listen to it separated from the rest of the suite...

Good question!

Because there's threads about specific people who weren't the drummer for The Beatles, which seem to generate more interest around here...
