In this thread: The Unabashed Celebration of Cheesy Metal Shite
Come on, you all know you want to, you all pretend to be too hip, or only listen to music recorded between March 2nd and March 3rd 1966. But this is your chance to get your axe out, throw some devil horns, whip out the spandex, put it away again, and generally get sweddy.
Credibility be damned.
Who's with me? Not too close, mind.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

I can get more cheesy than that. Or this, even:
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

I think being subjected to Priest was a step too far, too soon after the Loud Cup. Give it another 50 years.
Pcq raised the stakes with Angel Witch, so I'm forced to bring out Candlemass early.
^Seriously, how good is that? It's like Iron Maiden with big fucking balls.

Such a shame they didn't follow through with that video's early brilliance. I wanted to see more special effects, and less Armored Saint.

Well, they had to show off those sweet sweet threads they got at the Judas Priest yard sale !...

Some favorites.
From a great debut album.
I like this cover.
Newer band, often described as Power Pop, but they check many of the boxes.
Local SF guys who only put out two albums before drugs took hold. They had some promise.
Newer emo band with cover of Pink Floyd's Money I really like.

In some strange serendipity or kismet, Steven Pearcey of Ratt and Sea Hags guitarist, Frank Wilsey, hooked up for Arcade.

As gloriously over the top as it is possible to be in the genre of Cheesy Metal Shite.

They were great.
Some of those bands like Winger, Warrant, Twisted Sister, etc., had some good pop sensibilities. I think Rob Zombie was also listening. Unfortunately, a lot of White Zombie and Rob Zombie songs sound a lot alike.

The Finns do cheesy metal better than anyone else. As this bunch from Finnish Lapland prove:
