Three from Mirage

Postby clive gash » 16 Mar 2018, 15:29

A record that gets lost in the fever around II and UOTS, it’s the natural next step on from the latter (although the Pups sandwiched it between raunchfests Out My Way and Huevos - palette cleansers).

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I'm surprised you rate it that highly. I think I only like it as much as I do because I saw them do pretty much the whole album (but faster and louder) live a couple of times right after it came out.

I'll go with "Love Our Children Forever", "A Hundred Miles", annnnnnnnnnnnnnd either "Leaves" or "Confusion Fog".

Up on the Sun is their masterpiece. Their only masterpiece.

II is good. Scattered moments outside of that, but this is them at the point where they're deciding they'd rather be more ordinary.

SO relieved this isn't about the Fleetwood Mac album.

I was ready to vote for Jack Mix II.

Both would have been preferable over this.

I thought this was a thread about Eric Burdon!

I thought this was a thread about Mirage, not the Meat Puppets record, another one!
