Plugz and Social Distortion drummer who also played with Dylan, Cracker and John Doe, among others. It's all over Facebook (never met him, to my knowledge, but we have a LOT of mutual friends) though no official cause that I'm aware of. I'd heard he'd been in ill health, but don't know any additional details.
A great guy, by accounts I'm hearing. RIP.

. Got Jimi's autograph after the show and went on to see him several times that year

Charlie, with a man he once knew.

That's a rocking version of Jokerman (rehearsal and live). I don't think I've ever heard Dylan sound so much like the Clash. He could have slipped in "career opportunities the ones that never knock" and no-one would have batted an eyelid.

I never knew him well. We had mutual friends and would run into each other from time to time. That was many years ago. I haven’t seen him in a very long time. I remember him as a nice guy and a hellaciously good drummer. R.I.P.
The Plugz were a pretty happening band back in the day.
