Don't know if I'm a fan as such, but a casual hits compilation of the obvious songs would do me fine. Say:

School
Bloody Well Right
Dreamer
Give a Little Bit
Gone Hollywood
The Logical Song
Goodbye Stranger
Breakfast in America
Take the Long Way Home
It's Raining Again

Don't take them seriously enough to need any of the deep cuts.

Kath's and my taste in Supertramp lines up very closely, so I think I'm safe to speak for both of us on this (but then I fear for my safety on a daily basis - the woman collects medieval weapons, for fucque's sake :) ).....

Crime of the Century and Breakfast In America are both stellar and then some. I love School, Kath loves Hide In Your Shell, we both love Take The Long Way Home (another one for the harmonica thread), etc. etc.
Even In The Quietest Moments is excellent.
Crisis? What Crisis? is really good but not quite up to the level of the 3 above.
And Paris is a phenomenal double-live album. The best songs from the 4 albums above and an excellent recording. One of my favorite live albums from the 70's/80's.

The rest? Very hit and miss. We actually never listen to any of the rest of them. I'm sure Famous Last Words is at least pretty good, but it never really resonated with me. I do want to go back and refresh my memory on the tracks David Gilmour plays on on Brother Where You Bound. I'm a bigger fan of the Hodgson songs than the Davies songs as a general rule, but Davies has written some great things.

C, if you're wanting to check one thing out to see what you might be missing, I'd actually recommend giving Paris a spin.
Pontificating incorrigibly since birth.

Yes, Paris, is one of the best live albums of the era.

Crime Of The Century, is probably their only canon album, but I do really like Crisis? What Crisis.

And Dreamer was a great single.

I think they have a lot of good deep cuts. In fact some of their big hits are a bit off-putting.

Here's my top 10 favorites from both Hodgson and Davies (plus one extra from after the split)
Hodgson:
1.Even in the Quietest Moments
2.School
3.Child of Vision
4.The Logical Song
5.Don't Leave Me Now
6.Give a Little Bit
7.Take the Long Way Home
8.The Meaning
9.Hide In Your Shell
10.Sister Moonshine
11.Had a Dream (Sleeping With the Enemy)

Davies
1.From Now On
2.Crime of the Century
3.Asylum
4.Another Man's Woman
5.Gone Hollywood
6.Bloody Well Right
7.Goodbye Stranger
8.Just Another Nervous Wreck
9.Downstream
10.Waiting So Long
11.Cannonball

You're all missing Indelibly Stamped.
Any album with Rosie Had Everything Planned and Aries (among others) is well worth a listen.

Thanks for the remainder, I never heard that one. I’ll stream it and get back to you.
